Kogi Central Primaries: Aspirants Walk-Out of Venue over Malpractices

All other aspirants except Tijani Damisa at the Okene/Ogorimagongo House of Representatives primary election have walked out of the venue over what they have described as fraudulent irregularities and election malpractices.

One of the aggrieved aspirants, Mariam Ozioma Ahmed who posted video proof of the alleged malpractice, explained that Okene Administrator, Abdulrazaq Muhammad was visibly writing on the ballot papers for delegates on the claims that they are illiterates.

She wrote: "This was the supposed primary elections for the seat of House of Representatives (Okene/Ogori-Magongo constituency). This video is the proof of fraudulent irregularities and election malpractices that was displayed today. I simply will not accept this. This is nothing close to a credible, free and fair election.

The man writing for delegates is the agent for Hon. Tijani Damisa. He is the sole administrator for Okene local government. His presence was an intimidation to the delegates as they were advised to claim illiteracy so that he could write/vote his candidate's name for them. I repeat, this is not acceptable!"

A similar situation has been reported from the venue of Adavi/Okehi constituency ongoing amidst invasion of thugs.
