Administrative Failure; KSU Management Publicly Embarrasses Itself for The Umpteenth Time | VOMM Writes

Kogi state university is officially an institution of learning being run and administrated by “Educated illiterates”. Perhaps, misinformed, incompetent, administrative failures, are better terms with which to describe those currently vested with the responsibility of smoothly and competently running the school, of which the college of health sciences is an extension of.

For the registrar of the institution to display such crass ignorance about which “academic session” it’s currently stagnated medical students are in is at best laughable, and at worst worth crying over.

What other explanation can one give for a situation where the school management is compelling her medical students which it has allowed to be stagnated in the same academic session for almost 3 years to pay tuition fees for the accumulated years they have been stagnated in?

What is even more flabbergasting is the purposed reason apparently lifted from the school’s administrative constitution; “…for the avoidance of doubt, let it be known to them(the medical students) that payment of school fees in kogi state university are per academic session, irrespective of the years spent in a level”.

And the medical student’s students in question have been stuck in the limbo of the same academic session (2015/2016) for 3 years, and have only just been granted the opportunity to write the exam that will take them to a new class.

So in essence, they are been forced to pay school fees up to 400 level of medical school. While still in 200 level, due to a stagnation of which is no cause of theirs.

As to how the “respectable” registrar of an academic institution of the calibre of kogi state university can come to such the conclusion that the students are owing the school 3 years’ worth of school fees, is beyond reasonable comprehension.

The most disheartening part of this highly regrettable situation is that the students who are being bullied into paying for “services not yet rendered” are supposed to be preparing for promotional exams which come up in less than 2 days.

Is it farfetched to assume that the students are currently disconcerted, confused, surprised, and most importantly unable to properly read for an exam so pivotal to their advancement towards the goal of becoming medical doctors?

This display of lack of gumption, basic logical reasoning, and pure callousness is not only disheartening, but worthy of condemnation by men of integrity, and core human values the world over.

Kogi state university, we weep for you!

College of Health Sciences, we mourn the ravishing of your autonomy!
